Geneva 2009 debut: Mansory Chopster
This is the crazy Porsche Cayenne-based Masory Chopster which has just debuted in Geneva.German tuners Mansory handed over a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to its Swiss branch, which extensively modified the bodywork and gave it supercar levels of performance. The Chopster is lower and wider than the normal Cayenne, has a set of 23-inch alloy wheels, huge air intakes and a centrally-mounted exhaust which is so big you could probably hide inside. And it’s not all show and no go. The standard Cayenne Turbo S is no slouch, but Mansory has fitted a bigger turbocharger and fiddled about with the engine’s computer to increase power from 540bhp to 710bhp.Mansory claims this power hike will give the Chopster a top speed of 187mph which is, quite frankly, scary – but the tuner has fitted mammoth brakes to help stop the SUV.Inside, the Mansory Chopster gets hand-stitched leather seats, DVD player, a laptop with Internet access and loads of carbon fibre. In the pictures, the Mansory looks mad but in the metal it’s phenomenal – the sheer size and brutality of the modified Porsche Cayenne is something else and it’s certainly a contender for most outrageous car of the show. The most shocking thing is that we actually quite like it.
